ANNIE LOU STAVELEY The Plan Is Good

Born in Washington State, Mrs. Annie Lou Staveley came in contact with Gurdjieff directly after WWII through her teacher, Jane Heap, in London.  She returned to the US and ultimately founded a community called Two Rivers Farm in Aurora, Oregon.  Compiled by those who carry on Mrs. Staveley’s work today, The Plan Is Good is a collection of themes created for Sunday Work Days, articles, letters and other pieces written by her over a 30-year period.  Many of these pieces have never been publicly accessible till now.  Each offers a unique view of her understanding of human life and possibilities for evolution.  In the foreword, Karl Schaefer describes her as "inspiring, compassionate, impeccable, and resourceful.  These merely touch, in a limited way, upon some of her remarkable attributes."  There are not many pupils of Gurdjieff from the US and her voice is distinctive and relevant.  A welcome publication.
