ROSEMARY NOTT Music of the Prieure

Music of the Prieure

Rosemary Nott

Rosemary Nott's contribution to the preservation and practice of the Gurdjieff/de Hartmann music is seldom recognized beyond the circles of those who knew her.  Pianist Rosemary Nott lived at the Prieure in the 1920s and was intensely involved in music and Movements.  It is little known that Gurdjieff dictated to her certain melodies and asked her to bring them to a certain realization, in the same way she had seen de Hartmann work with Gurdjieff.  The pieces represent a range of the Gurdjieff/de Hartmann music, including some music for the Movements.
