Originally published in Spanish, this book is the translation of a series of conversations with Olivier Laignel de Salzmann recorded the year before his death in 2005. Born in 1940, Olivier spent his early childhood in Paris where he was frequently taken to Mr. Gurdjieff’s apartment by his parents and grandmother, Jeanne de Salzmann. Throughout his life, he participated in and led groups in South America under the direction of his mother, Nathalie de Salzmann de Etievan. He and his wife Anga spent the last decade of his life in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The conversations transcribed in these pages provide a window into Olivier’s unique understanding of the ideas and practices of Gurdjieff's teaching. His deep love for the teaching and the potential he saw in it for transforming our world are truly inspiring. This book is primarily intended for those who are already in the Gurdjieff Work and familiar with the ideas, but it could also be interesting to those who are merely seeking and curious about the teachings of G.I. Gurdjieff.
