Welcome! During this trying, tumultuous period, we hope this website serves as a reminder of the all the possibilities G. I. Gurdjieff affirmed as our birthright, if, exercising critical minds, we work on ourselves, under the light of this still new teaching.
Madame de Salzmann reminded us, “What we are in our essence—our higher possibilities—we do not know.” (From The Reality of Being.) Yet, “the powerful, ancient stream of true knowledge of being” (from Of the Life Aligned, by Frank Sinclair) always exists, even in the midst of the most disruptive forces.
Given the complexity of factors opposing the essential goal Mr. Gurdjieff formulated for us, our “harmonious development,” we need help. Fortunately, great depths of help have been given, in part through a growing body of literature produced within this teaching, from the early writings of P. D. Ouspensky to recent volumes produced by students with decades “in the Work.”
We continually sort through these writings, as well as recordings of the Gurdjieff/de Hartmann music, offering what we perceive as most helpful, most eternal, yet most contemporary, in these testing times.
